October 14, 2012 (Sunday) Scotiabank Waterfront Marathon/5K Walkathon

 

Inspired by our success last year, we are entering again the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon/Walkathon in 2012. Your donations will help fund the Buddhism, Psychology and Mental Health Program at New College, University of Toronto.

A fundraising banquet was held on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at the Pearl Harbourfront Restaurant, 207 Queen’s Quay West, Toronto  to raise fund for the Buddhism, Psychology and Mental Health Program at New College, University of Toronto.  View banquet poster here.

A fundraising banquet was held on Sunday, November 1, 2009 at the Pearl Harbourfront Restaurant, 207 Queen’s Quay West, Suite 200, Toronto (Tel. 416-203-1233) to raise fund for the Buddhist Psychology Program at New College, University of Toronto. View banquet poster here.

2008 vegetarian banquet

A fundraising banquet was held on Sunday, October 19, 2008 at the Diamond Banquet Hall, First Markham Place, Unit 1, 3225 Highway 7 East, Markham, to raise fund for Buddhist studies. Net proceeds from the banquet were donated to the University of Toronto for Buddhist studies. 

2006 vegetarian banquet

A fundraising banquet was held on Saturday, November 4, 2006 at the Golden Regency Resturant, Pacific Mall, Unit F88, 4300 Steeles Avenue East, Markham, to raise fund to an endowed lectureship in Buddhist Psychology . The event was sold out to a full house of supporters and guests of over 40 tables. Professor Rick Halpern, Principal of New College and Professor Tony Toneatto of the University of Toronto reported on the status of the Buddhist studies program at New College. 2005 vegetarian banquet

A fundraising banquet was held on May 15, 2005 at the picturesque and elegant Pearl Harbourfront Restaurant. (link to photogallery) The event was sold out to a full house of supporters and guests of 25 tables. We were honoured y the presence of U of T's Chancellor, the Honourable Dr. Vieinne Poy and Dr. Neville Poy; Vice President and Principal of U of T at Scarborough Dr. Kwong-loi Shun and Mrs. Annie Shun; Principal of New College, U of T, Dr. David Clandfield and Mrs. Sandra Clandfield; as well as past and present U of T professors in Buddhist studies.

2003 vegetarian banquet

Our inaugural fundraising banquet was held on November 1, 2003 at the Golden Regency Restaurant at Pacific Mall. The event was sold out to a full house of supporters and guests of 46 tables. The organizers of the U of T Buddhist studies campaign to create a Buddhist studies centre addressed the Chinese media and the BEFC supporters at the banquet. They hope that community fundraising will support the goal of a Buddhist studies centre being created at U of T in the near future. Principal Clandfield of New College was there to receive a donation to sponsor the "Socially Engaged Buddhism" course at New College.
